In the article Rettberg states “filter is the process where something is being removed.”(21). In the whole chapter Rettberg describes about all the filters and the different ways of filtering. The examples of the filtering he gives are Cognitive, Technology, and Culture. First Culture, She goes on to give examples of in the article was to keep a diary She stated that the diary will keep and that it will keep it in order. Secondly Technology, she says that technology can help people to improve many things, some examples she gives is like taking a picture or others like blogs. Shes states that people are pleased at a picture they have taken with a filter because it fits with what our society wants and what they are looking for.
Commentary: In the article the author Rettberg uses many examples of examples. He uses examples of coffee, cigarettes, dust, x-rays, and passive circuit. I like that because it bring in a certain point of view to the subject and help us understand in a different way. What I was done reading the article I kept thinking about how much we have filters in our life and all around us. The author talked about technology, culture, and more. Then I came around to the main idea I like it. because I can relate to it. When I see all the filters on snapchat it amazes me because there is so many of them and they all do different things and can help with different needs. I liked the article overall. It made us think of a all not way to view filters other then pictures.
